ABOUT

This detached 4 bed home, with amazing views over the valley was a replacement for an existing property which had suffered from significant structural damage.

Being built into the hillside on a sloping site, extensive piling was required to ensure stability of the new dwelling.

Greenbelt restrictions and site context were design generators which means that the new house sits modestly on the exposed hill side with a fairly traditional appearance, whilst exploiting the amazing views via the internal double height living spaces.

Solar provision and an MVHR system give the building sustainable credentials and minimise running costs.

The property has recently won the LABC award for best individual new home in the Yorkshire region.
